Parliament and Poppies
Last week's Zoom was an opportunity to meet our MP Margaret Greenwood. We joined the Guides for also a Parliament Quiz, and game, then learned about the work an MP does behind the scenes, and told her our views on some current issues. She was particularly interested in our thoughts about home schooling during the lockdown. We have now agreed to write 2 letters each to elderly members of the community who live alone. These will be delivered by carers from Home Instead Agency. Instead of parading at the War memorial on Remembrance Sunday, the challenge set by Girlguiding was to hear some stories of heroes, and to make a poppy wreath to display. |
Individual News Congratulations Woodmouse! During our chat we discovered that she has not only become the Deputy Head Girl at School, but she has found time to pass a tap dancing exam too. We were pleased to hear that her family are all recovering after catching Covid 19 in school. The pumpkin was spotted in a Ranger's garden last week. Penguin decided to take part in the Children in Need 'Act your Age' challenge by baking her age in cookies. And finally, Congratulations to Kat who has completed her Silver DofE Award. |
